B.A. in Chemistry from Carleton College in 1999.
Joined the Elliott group in Jan. 2002.
I grew up in rural southeastern Minnesota and then attended Carleton College (also in Minnesota). Since then I've done some globetrotting and ski bumming before finally settling here at CSU. Although my chemistry background is more on the inorganic side, my interests are primarily among materials and device technology, especially as they relate to environmental chemistry. I'm just getting started on my research project, but so far it looks like my research will be primarily centered around Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC's) and trying to get the redox-mediator component "out of solution" and into the solid state. When not in the lab, I enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, bouldering, mountain biking, partying, and just generally trying to break myself.
