THE VANADIS AWARD.

The Vanadis award is given to a researcher in the area of Vanadium Science, and is presented at the recipient's award lecture at the biannual International Vanadium Symposium. The awardees receive the award for their contributions to a discipline or combination of disciplines of vanadium science. Although nominations of new researchers are encouraged, the award will be given to those having displayed innovative research and who have had a documented impact on the direction of the field.

The nominee will be selected on the basis of the following criteria.

i) Innovative research

Discovery of new chemical and biological systems

A history of development/expansion of techniques and procedures

ii) Development of new applications

New chemical applications

New biochemical applications

iii) History of high quality and impact publications.

iv) Service of the nominee to progress, applications, or exploration of vanadium in science.

A nomination should be submitted by a nominator and should include: 1) a 1-page description of the contributions of the candidate by the nominator, 2) the candidates resume, and 3) one supporting letter from a leader in the scientific community.
